E3 is almost at a complete wrap up, and many are pretty satisfied with what was shown from all the different gaming companies, while others still felt like some things were missing. All the big names in gaming came out to show off what they have to offer – Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Bethesda, and more.So what was each company missing from their show that many had expected to see? Rumors and all.
Let’s begin with Bethesda’s conference. I think the main thing that failed many a Bethesda fan is the fact that there was no announcement of The Elder Scrolls VI… only a remaster of a game that many people didn’t feel was worthy of. While many wanted a remake of either Morrowind or Oblivion, we instead got a remaster of Skyrim. Which, to me, looks to be pretty gorgeous with the upgraded graphics and all. Bethesda had a great conference in all, minus the lack of a new TES.
Microsoft had a good conference, and showed us all we wanted to see, from the New Gears of War 4 to their new, sleeker Xbox One S… The only thing missing that people wanted to see was the new Crackdown game, which has now been delayed until 2017 after it skipped this year’s E3. Other than that game, Microsoft did pretty well.
The one big things missing from Sony’s conference was their new system that they have been working on, the new, upgraded PS4, being currently dubbed Ps4.5, or the PlayStation Neo. Microsoft showed their upgraded console, so one would think it’d be a smart move by Sony to do the same. Another thing many had anticipated was a look at the supposed The Last of Us 2, which there was no mention of. We did however, get to see a new God of War, as well as get a release date for The Last Guardian, a PS4 title we have been waiting for since the system came out.
Nintendo only showed us two games… The new Legend of Zelda game for the Wii U and NX and a long 45 minutes of Pokemon Sun and Moon. The new Zelda game was revealed to be entitled The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, showcasing a game that looked like Zelda had fused with the world of Skyrim, and it was amazing. Though the one big thing everyone wanted to see was the Nintendo NX. Granted, it was said by Nintendo that we would not see the console at E3, but we still held out hope. With a console that is coming out early next year, you’d think E3 2016 would be the perfect place to show it off at. But we all know how heavily Nintendo relies on their Nintendo Directs, so it really wouldn’t be much of a surprise if they waited and showed it that way.
What were your hopes and dreams for this year’s E3? What do you wish they had shown?
