BioWare Brings Us Something New in 2018

February 3, 2017 By Nightingale Silva

Most gamers know who BioWare is nowadays. And if you don’t know who they are, what rock have you been living under? Just kidding… but really??? Anywho, BioWare is the awesome gaming company behind Dragon Age and Mass Effect. Even though we all thoroughly enjoy those two gaming series (and want to see more from them), BioWare has announced that they will be bringing us an all new IP come next year.

The new IP will be of the action/adventure variety, and is said that it won’t be an RPG like the previous series’ have been. In a short blog post written by Aaryn Flynn, BioWare’s General Manager, he stated that the game has been in creation since 2012, where they came up with an all-new universe and a whole new slew of characters for us to get attached to.

“In 2012, we began crafting a new universe full of new characters, stories, and gameplay. Our ambition is simple: Draw upon 20+ years of development knowledge and lessons to create something fun and new for you to enjoy with your friends.

There’s nothing quite as exciting as building a new IP from scratch, and it will be even more thrilling for us to share more with you in the future.”

In the very same blog, it’s mentioned that the new IP will “players together in exciting new ways.” One has to wonder what that means… Do they mean it in the way that it will be a new fandom for us to clamor over together, or do they mean it in an ‘it’ll-be-an-online-multiplayer-game’ kind of way? Either way, I am super excited to see what BioWare has to offer us come next year. Who knows, maybe we will get a sneak-peek come E3 2017! We can only dream…
